<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p><strong>Intermediate to Senior Field Lead Biologist / Agrologist (Registered or Eligible for)</strong></p><p><em>Drafting JD:</em><br /></p><p>Key Responsibilities:</p><ul><li>Lead and execute <strong>field-based environmental assessments, monitoring, and reclamation projects</strong>.</li></ul><ul><li>Conduct <strong>vegetation, wetland, soil, and wildlife habitat assessments</strong> to support regulatory approvals.</li></ul><ul><li>Provide expertise on <strong>soil classification, land capability assessments, erosion control, and revegetation planning</strong>.</li></ul><ul><li>Develop and implement <strong>environmental management and mitigation plans</strong> for resource development projects.</li></ul><ul><li>Ensure compliance with <strong>provincial and federal regulatory requirements</strong> (BC Oil & Gas Commission, Water Sustainability Act, Environmental Protection and Management Regulation, etc.).</li></ul><ul><li>Coordinate with <strong>clients, government agencies, Indigenous groups, and stakeholders</strong> to communicate project requirements and environmental considerations.</li></ul><ul><li>Prepare detailed <strong>technical reports, environmental assessments, and regulatory applications</strong>.</li></ul><ul><li>Supervise and mentor <strong>junior staff and field teams</strong>, ensuring quality control and adherence to project objectives.</li></ul><ul><li>Support business development by identifying <strong>new project opportunities, preparing proposals, and maintaining client relationships</strong>.</li></ul><p>Qualifications & Experience:</p><ul><li><strong>Degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Agriculture, or a related discipline.</strong></li></ul><ul><li><strong>Registered (or eligible) as an RPBio or PAg in BC.</strong></li></ul><ul><li><strong>5+ years</strong> of experience in field-based environmental work, including assessments, monitoring, and reclamation.</li></ul><ul><li>Proven knowledge of <strong>BC and federal environmental regulations</strong> and permitting processes.</li></ul><ul><li>Strong understanding of <strong>soil science, plant ecology, wetland delineation, and habitat assessments</strong>.</li></ul><ul><li>Experience working in <strong>oil & gas, forestry, mining, or infrastructure development sectors</strong> is an asset.</li></ul><ul><li>Proficient in <strong>GIS applications, data collection tools, and technical reporting</strong>.</li></ul><ul><li>Excellent <strong>organizational, communication, and leadership</strong> skills.</li></ul><ul><li>Valid <strong>Class 5 drivers license</strong> with a willingness to travel to remote field sites as required.</li></ul><p><strong><br /></strong></p></p></p>Browse Jobs in Canada by City
