<p>Muskoka Lumber has locations in Huntsville, Bracebridge, Bala, Mactier, and Port Carling, providing quality building products and services to our customers. We offer additional services with our window and door department as well as custom residential design services.</p><p>We are seeking an <b>Architectural Technologist</b> to join our team in Port Carling. With over 20 years of experience, we focus on cottages, vacation homes, boathouses, and accessory buildings. The ideal candidate would have a strong design aesthetic and a solid technical understanding of custom wood frame construction and local zoning by-laws.</p><p><b>Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li>Graduate of a 2 or 3-year Architectural or Civil Technology program</li><li>5+ years of experience in custom residential design</li><li>BCIN certifications: Legal, House/Small Buildings, Plumbing House, HVAC House</li><li>Valid G driver's license</li><li>AATO or CET membership considered an asset</li></ul><p><b>Skills and Abilities:</b></p><ul><li>Organized, able to follow organizational standards</li><li>Meet or exceed deadlines</li><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite</li><li>Experience with Revit LT and AutoCAD LT</li><li>Ability to learn and operate Sapphire Supply (EWP floor layout software), Woodworks (single member sizing), and Right-Suite Universal (HVAC design)</li><li>Experience researching local zoning by-laws</li><li>Effective communication with contractors and township officials regarding construction documents</li><li>Experience liaising with EWP/truss suppliers and other consultants</li></ul><p><b>Job Duties:</b></p><ul><li>Partner with the Design Manager or lead projects from concept to permit plans with minimal supervision</li><li>Create 2D and 3D models using Revit LT and AutoCAD LT</li><li>Implement various architectural styles and trends into projects</li><li>Apply knowledge of building science to enhance occupant comfort</li><li>Manage multiple projects simultaneously, collaborating with other designers to meet deadlines</li><li>Review and sign off on plans in accordance with the Ontario Building Code, BCIN, and local submissions</li><li>Navigate zoning by-laws to advise clients on building allowances</li><li>Coordinate with builders, consultants, and review structural drawings by P.E.</li><li>Prepare and organize drawing sets for clients</li><li>Handle administrative tasks such as answering phones and scheduling meetings</li><li>Assist the design team as needed to achieve project goals</li></ul>Create Your Resume First
