<p>Int. Business Consultant - GOAPRDJP </p> <p>Contract 1 year</p> <p>Primarily work remotely; however, the resource may be required to attend meetings or work sessions in the office on reasonable notice from the Province. This can be up to 4 times a year, pending on demand.<br></p> <p>2 positions - 2 submissions max</p> <p>9888 JASPER AVE<br>Edmonton</p> <p>Standard background check<br></p> <p>The Registries Modernization team is taking an agile approach to implementing modernized, innovative, human-centric and sustainable solutions for delivering registry services to Albertans. For the Motor Vehicles registry, this includes a complete replacement of the legacy applications that delivery motor vehicle services with an established codebase that will serve as the foundation of the new system. Our team is looking for a Business Consultant who is process oriented and experienced in gathering requirements, performing gap analysis, and working with stakeholders to deliver solutions that meet business needs and drive operational efficiency.<br><br>Responsibilities will include:<br></p><ul><li>Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and conduct process walkthroughs:<br>- Identify goals and pain points through gap analysis on current state and future state business processes.<br>- Create, review and update user stories, personas and journey maps, as applicable.<br>- Create system use cases, flow diagrams and interactive mock-ups outlining functional requirements, as required.<br>- Document and validate results with subject matter experts and drive the creation of detailed business and functional requirements specification documents.</li><li>Support development of necessary system (non-technical) documentation as well as make recommendations for policy and/or procedural manuals.</li><li> Support change management and training to ensure delivery of complex program changes.</li><li>Conduct post implementation reviews, assessing opportunities for backlog refinement and for continuous improvement.</li><li>Liaise with security and privacy teams to complete security threat risk assessments and privacy impact assessments as required.</li><li>Assist with project planning, scheduling and status reporting as required.</li></ul> <p>To be successful in this role, the Contingent Resource should have:<br></p><ul><li>Demonstrated experience providing business analysis/consulting services in a motor vehicle registries modernization project.</li><li>Demonstrated experience conducting a gap analysis between legacy systems and modern solutions.</li><li>An understanding of Motor Vehicles services in Alberta.</li><li>an understanding of Agile framework (SCRUM) through demonstrated experience.</li><li>a results driven mindset and able to function independently, while engaging with other stakeholders and team members as required to deliver outcomes.</li><li>a thorough understanding and experience using an Agile/Hybrid approach. Experience with tools such as JIRA is preferred.</li><li>knowledge of and the ability to apply and interpret complex legislations/regulations, policies, and standards.</li></ul>
Must-Have's:<ul><li>Experience documenting user requirements, business processes, and workflows - 5 years</li><li>Experience gathering requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases or scenarios, business analysis, and business process modelling - 5 years</li><li>Experience in a leadership and/or facilitation role - 3 years</li><li>Experience working within a motor vehicle registries modernization project - 1 year</li><li>Experience working within an agile development environment - 3 years</li></ul>
Nice-to-Have's:<ul><li>Active professional certification or accreditation in a related discipline from a recognized issuing body</li><li>Knowledge of various software development methodologies (i.e. agile, waterfall, scrum, Kanban, etc.)</li><li>Experience evaluating policies, programs, and initiatives using program development principles - 3 years</li><li>Experience in gathering requirements from a diverse group of stakeholders across ministries or departments - 3 years</li><li>Experience using analytical and problem-solving skills to plan and design creative solutions - 3 years</li><li>Experience with business writing, communication and documentation - 3 years</li><li>Experience with change management - 3 years</li></ul>
