<p><b>About the Role:</b> Our Toronto office is seeking an experienced Immigration Lawyer with excellent communication skills who, effectively collaborates and supports their clients in a constantly changing landscape of Canadian business immigration. <h3>How will you make a difference as an Associate at Fragomen?</h3>
<ul>
<li>Develop an expert-level understanding of your client base and the industries you support as well as the firm’s practice areas and services provided.</li>
<li>Assess eligibility of corporate foreign national employees for non‑immigrant and immigrant visa status.</li>
<li>Work with client global mobility personnel to prepare petitions and applications for submission to government agencies for non‑immigrant and immigrant foreign national employees.</li>
<li>Draft and prepare letters and legal documents, typically based on established precedents.</li>
<li>Conduct research to support client requests and projects.</li>
<li>Supervise the work of paralegal staff in record keeping and document preparation.</li>
<li>Demonstrate a willingness to learn and effectively implement guidance and direction offered by supervisors and experienced colleagues.</li>
<li>Proactively communicate with clients, within SLAs/team protocols and with a precise, efficient, thoughtful, and organized response.</li>
<li>Partner with colleagues to resolve client issues, share information, and support client projects.</li>
<li>Support clients in immigration program management and compliance.</li>
<li>Use firm technology accurately and in line with team and client protocols, ensuring accurate and complete data is entered.</li>
<li>Actively contribute to team meetings and firmwide activities.</li>
<li>Act as a source of advice and training to more junior colleagues, proactively sharing immigration knowledge and expertise.</li>
<li>Ensure self and team follow documented firm standards and policy to mitigate risk and ensure regulatory, operational and client compliance.</li>
<li>Other duties as required.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Leverage your valuable skills and experience to make an impact at Fragomen:</h3>
<ul>
<li>Canadian bar lawyer with a minimum of 2 years’ experience and knowledge of Canadian immigration law</li>
<li>Proven ability to build strong working relationships with clients and staff</li>
<li>Responsible for managing a broad caseload in a fast‑paced environment.</li>
<li>Ability to identify issues, analyze facts and determine appropriate case strategy.</li>
<li>Effectively utilize on‑line research tools and comfortable working with client management systems.</li>
<li>Displays professionalism, quality service and a “positive” can‑do attitude and contribute to the Firm’s overall initiatives.</li>
</ul>
<p>We are working in a hybrid model of 2 days at the office and 3 days from home.</p>
