Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of care. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living, senior care, or similar environments, and will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for those they assist. This role involves a variety of tasks aimed at promoting independence and dignity for clients in their homes.
Duties
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor health conditions
- Support clients with mobility and daily activities, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment through regular cleaning tasks
- Offer companionship and emotional support to clients
- Engage clients in activities that promote cognitive function and social interaction, particularly for those with dementia or disabilities
- Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to appropriate personnel
Qualifications
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or hospice care is preferred
- Knowledge of patient care practices and caregiving techniques
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate demeanor when working with individuals with disabilities or dementia
- Certification in home care or caregiving is a plus but not required
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
