The Serve fleet has been delighting merchants, customers, and pedestrians along the way in Los Angeles, Miami, Dallas, Atlanta and Chicago while doing commercial deliveries. We’re looking for talented individuals who will grow robotic deliveries from surprising novelty to efficient ubiquity.

The Full Stack Software Engineer, Internal Services will help the company scale along with the Software Team and the size of our robotic fleet by shortening developer feedback loop and improving their day-to-day lives. This role will build internal tools (both CLI and web-based) use by Software Engineers, QA specialists and, in some cases, Operations, with a purpose to automate and streamline daily work

Responsibilities

  • Build, test and maintain internal web services to augment Software and QA teams.

  • Partner with Software teams and QA to identify the biggest opportunities for optimization of their daily workflow.

  • Drive certain subsets of identified technical problems and/or for certain internal products that Software Engineers will be using.

  • Design, implement, and test new solutions while maintaining and supporting existing

  • Participate in fleet software lifecycle management OTA updates, configuration management, feature flags.

  • Develop tools for easier discovery of valuable data, with an ability to plug it into other parts of the ecosystem: introspection, ML training, regression tests, etc.

  • Contribute to the Software team processes, such as releases, development and feature testing, and create tools that help make those processes more efficient.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of web service development experience, with both frontend and backend development experience.

  • 3+ years experience with Python, Elixir and/or Typescript for web development,

  • 1+ years experience with Observability Engineering.

  • First-hand familiarity with Continuous Delivery and shipping products with fast iterations.

  • Experience building and maintaining development tools for yourself and other teams.

  • Experience being your own project’s product manager: working with your customers, coming up with requirements and KPIs and driving those.

  • Cloud infrastructure knowledge is a big plus. In our case – Google Cloud + Terraform + GKE.

* Please note: The base salary range listed in this job description reflects compensation for candidates based in the San Francisco Bay Area. We are also open to qualified talent working remotely across the:

United States - Base salary range (U.S. – all locations): $130k - $165k USD

Compensation Range: $155K - $200K
