<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p>Front-End Designer – Digital Service Modernization<br><br>Location: Fully Remote with Occasional Team Meetings in Edmonton, AB<br />Duration: 1 Year + Potential for Extension<br><br>Description:<br />We’re seeking up to three Front-End Designers to support a major public-sector initiative focused on modernizing digital services, improving user experience, and driving innovation across government programs.<br><br>This work is part of a broader mandate to streamline services, introduce modern digital practices, and create simpler, more intuitive experiences for residents. You’ll be joining a central digital design and delivery team that champions human-centred design, agile methods, and data-driven decision making.<br><br>About the Role<br />As a Front-End Designer, you’ll collaborate within cross-functional teams including product owners, researchers, developers, and service designers to rethink and reimagine how public services are delivered. These teams conduct end-to-end digital transformation, from researching current service challenges to designing, testing, and launching improved solutions.<br />The work is iterative and fast-paced, evolving with user needs, business priorities, and technical opportunities.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br /> • Designing creative, evidence-based front-end solutions aligned to established design standards.<br /> • Producing foundational design artifacts such as wireframes, prototypes, pattern libraries, component libraries, style guides, and build-ready design specifications.<br /> • Planning and supporting design research, including user interviews, field studies, or usability testing.<br /> • Presenting clear, justified recommendations that support team alignment and decision-making.<br /> • Actively participating in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, reviews, demos, and retrospectives.<br /> • Creating usability test plans and evaluation reports for current and future designs.<br /> • Assessing design accessibility and providing recommendations to meet applicable accessibility requirements.<br><br>Must-Have Experience<br /> • Demonstrated experience as a Front-End Designer focused on enhancing and delivering digital services across web or other digital platforms.<br /> • Experience creating key UX artifacts such as scenarios, journey storyboards, wireframes, and prototypes.<br /> • Experience working within a cross-functional Agile product team.<br /> • Ability to explore and present multiple design approaches to solve a problem.<br /> • Experience producing designs for multiple device types (web, mobile, etc.).<br /> • Working knowledge of accessibility standards, including WCAG.<br /> • Experience using modern design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Axure, etc.).<br /> • Familiarity with current design thinking and digital delivery methodologies.<br />Nice-to-Have Experience<br /> • Experience contributing to or maintaining design systems or component libraries.<br /> • Experience working on digital transformation projects in the public sector or within a central digital office.<br><br></p></p></p>Create Your Resume First
