FP&A Senior or Associate Employment Type Permanent Location Burnaby, British Columbia Apply SHARE THIS JOB Job Description: Our client is a fast-growing, privately held manufacturing company with a strong reputation in its industry. Recently acquired by a Canadian private equity firm, the company is entering an exciting new chapter of growth and transformation, creating new opportunities for innovation and operational improvement.
This newly created FP&A Senior/Associate role is a key addition to their team, reflecting the company’s ongoing commitment to building out its financial capabilities. The position is fully in-office at their Burnaby location, offering an excellent opportunity to work closely with leadership and have a direct impact on the company’s performance.
The organization fosters a relaxed, casual, yet hardworking and entrepreneurial culture. They value collaboration, initiative, and adaptability — making this a great environment for someone looking to grow alongside a company in an exciting phase of development.
This is the first hire dedicated to building out the FP&A function. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will play a critical role in shaping the company’s financial planning and analysis capabilities, providing the insights that leadership needs to support informed decision-making during this exciting phase of growth.
In this role, you will take ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and performing detailed margin and sales analysis. You will also act as a key business partner, working closely with teams outside of finance to help drive performance and accountability across the organization.
Beyond core FP&A responsibilities, you will collaborate with the Controller to support month-end reporting, offering a broad exposure to the company’s financial processes. The ideal candidate will bring a strong financial modeling skillset, with a background in investment banking, M&A, or advisory, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment where they can make an immediate impact. TMGVC Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in a technical and strategic finance role, such as investment banking, transaction advisory, corporate development, FP&A, or a similar function involving financial modeling, analysis, and decision support.
CPA, CFA, MBA, or other financial designations considered an asset.
Exposure to manufacturing or inventory-based industries is preferred.
Strong financial acumen and expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Advanced analytical and financial modeling skills, with the ability to build complex models, reports and templates from scratch with minimal guidance.
Strong problem-solving capabilities and a proactive approach to tackling challenges.
Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to stakeholders without a financial background.
Experience working cross-functionally and engaging with senior leadership.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to producing high-quality work.
Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
A collaborative team player who also thrives when working independently.
Positive, can-do attitude with a strong sense of ownership and initiative. Apply
