<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p>Salary: 150,000 to 160,000<br /><p>Employer: ITPS (Canada) Limited</p><p>Position: Flight Test Instrumentation Manager</p><p>Terms of Employment: Full-time / Permanent</p><p>Location: London, Ontario</p><p>Employment Address: 2410 Blair Blvd., London, ON Ontario N5V 3Z9</p><p>Hours of Work: 40 hours/week</p><p>Language: English</p><p>Benefits:</p><ul><li>Eligible for discretionary bonuses and/or salary increases in accordance with company policy.</li><li>Company contributory medical top-up scheme/ group health and dental benefits after successfully completing a 3-month probationary period</li><li>Eligible for Employment Assistance Program</li><li>Eligible for basic life, AD&D insurance</li><li>Eligible for three weeks paid vacation annually</li><li>Eligible for travel insurance</li></ul><p>Salary: $ 150,000 to $160,000 CAD / year</p><p>Contact: Please send resumes to <span >melanie.obrien@itpscanada.com</span> and include Flight Test Instrumentation Manager in the email subject line.</p><p><br><br></p><p>Duties: </p><ul><li>Leading and managing a team of instrumentation engineers and technicians</li><li>Defining department objectives, setting work priorities, and managing workflow to meet program requirements</li><li>Fostering a culture of safety, technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement</li><li>Managing departmental budgets, procurements, tooling, and scheduling</li><li>Representing the FTI department in cross-functional meetings, client briefings, and project reviews</li><li>Coordinating with test pilots, flight test engineers (FTEs), aircraft maintenance, and systems engineering to define instrumentation needs</li><li>Overseeing the planning, designing, and integration of custom and standard instrumentation systems for rotary and fixed-wing aircraft</li><li>Ensuring all data acquisition systems, sensors, transducers, recorders, telemetry systems, and onboard electronics meet program specifications</li><li>Leading the development and integration of FTI systems including wiring, sensor selection, data buses, and software interfaces</li><li>Ensuring accurate calibration, validation, and functional testing of all instrumentation prior to flight</li><li>Maintaining robust documentation, including wiring diagrams, interface control documents (ICDs), configuration control, and system design reports</li><li>Ensuring compliance with national and international aviation standards, including EASA, FAA, TCCA, and military equivalents where applicable</li><li>Collaborating with the Safety Management System (SMS) team to maintain hazard assessments and risk mitigation strategies related to instrumentation activities</li><li>Ensuring that work adheres to ITPSs quality assurance policies, flight safety protocols, and airworthiness requirements</li><li>Recruiting, training, mentoring, and developing staff within the FTI department</li><li>Conducting regular performance evaluations and recommending career development paths</li><li>Promoting cross-training and knowledge sharing within the team to build technical resilience</li><li>Interfacing with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that instrumentation deliverables meet contractual and technical expectations</li><li>Supporting proposal development, technical quotations, and customer demonstrations as needed</li><li>Participating in reviews, including Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs), Critical Design Reviews (CDRs), and Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs)</li><li>Keeping current with new instrumentation technologies, data acquisition systems, telemetry and processing tools</li><li>Driving innovation in the department by evaluating emerging technologies and incorporating them into future system designs</li><li>Providing regular departmental reports to senior leadership on project status, risks, staffing, and budget utilization</li><li>Maintaining comprehensive project documentation to ensure auditability and traceability of all instrumentation work</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Requirements: </p><ul><li>Completion of a two- to three-year college program in avionics or electronics is required</li><li>8+ years of experience in flight test instrumentation, with at least 3 years in a leadership role</li><li>Four years of on-the-job or company apprenticeship training is required</li><li>Proficient in data acquisition systems (e.g., IADS, DEWEsoft), signal conditioning, telemetry, and MIL-STD/ARINC interfaces</li><li>Strong leadership, project management, and interpersonal skills</li><li>Familiarity with civil and/or military airworthiness certification standards</li><li>Hands-on experience with calibration, sensor integration, and signal troubleshooting</li><li>Occasional travel may be required to support remote flight test campaigns, vendor site visits, or client meetings</li></ul></p></p>Create Your Resume First
