Established in May 2012, KINTON RAMEN was one of Toronto’s first Japanese ramen restaurants. Led by Executive Chef Aki Urata and his team of professional ramen chefs, KINTON RAMEN strives to offer guests an extraordinary dining experience every time.

Using the freshest ingredients to make the best quality noodles and broths, KINTON RAMEN invites customers to taste their exceptional ramen bowls right down to the last drop.



We are currently looking for a Full-time Experienced Cook!


SALARY



$17.00-$19.00/hour + tips


RESPONSIBILITIES
Exhibits culinary talents by performing day-to-day tasks, producing key menu items
Utilize various kitchen skills and cooking methods to meet Brand standards
Evaluate quality of food product, prep items and final menu items being served to guests
Verify that menu items are prepared to spec, respecting portion control and menu descriptions
Communicate food orders to Kitchen staff, paying attention to priorities and special requests (i.e. food allergies)
Maintain a steady flow of orders. Responsible for orders meeting timing standards
Ensure high standards of plating and presentation
Conduct line checks.

Prepare and stock all line product items and garnishes including maintaining assigned par levels
Always ensure cleanliness of dinnerware and serviceware
Maintain kitchen areas to ensure the utmost visual appeal and Brand alignment
Follow proper ordering, inventory and receiving procedures
Comply and action all health, food safety and hygiene standards and policies
Other duties may be assigned
Oversee kitchen helpers and train new staff

REQUIREMENTS

Experience
Minimum 1 year of culinary experience as a Line Cook required
Experience mentoring and coaching team
Experience in a high volume, fast paced, restaurant setting
Japanese culinary experience is an asset
Food Safety certification as required


Skills & Qualifications
Secondary School Education or equivalent proven and related work experience
Strong communication skills in English; Japanese is considered an asset
Ability to remain calm under pressure
Positive attitude and willingness to always push to be better
High level of attention to detail
Team player – assist in a positive Guest experience however necessary
Energetic – ability to work in a fast-paced environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS


The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position works in extreme temperatures- hot and cold and requires standing for up to 8 hours per shift, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and climbing all day.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This position also requires lifting up to 40lbs from floor to waist, waist to shoulder and shoulder to above head.

This position also required twisting, turning, and reaching.

Work Location: In person
