When you choose Arc, you're not just hiring a consultant; you're gaining a dedicated, local partner committed to your long-term success.</p><p><br></p><p><b>Role Description</b></p><p>We are seeking a dedicated full-time, on-site Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to join our team in Edmonton, AB. This role is ideal for individuals pursuing a career in occupational health and safety who thrive in a fast-paced setting and possess comprehensive knowledge of hazardous materials.</p><p><br></p><p><b>Job duties: </b></p><ul><li>Preparing and calibrating sampling equipment for field use,</li><li>Completing field work under the direction of a Project Manager,</li><li>Understanding the application of occupational health and safety principles and regulations, especially as they relate to industrial hygiene and hazardous materials,</li><li>Traveling to multiple client sites, setting up of sampling equipment, reviewing site conditions and collecting data,</li><li>All work to be completed within Alberta. The majority of traveling will be within Edmonton City limits, however some projects may require traveling outside of the City,</li><li>Flexibility required in meeting client schedules which may require working outside regular work hours (after 4:30pm, weekends and STAT holidays),</li><li>Basic client liaison to ensure health and safety needs are addressed in a timely manner,</li><li>Conducting site work associated with monitoring of hazardous materials abatement projects (e.g. asbestos, mould, lead, silica, etc.), including onsite supervision of contractor activities and collection of applicable air samples, </li><li>Collecting samples pertaining to the above for accurate logging on chain of custody documents and submitting to independent laboratories for analysis,</li><li>Identifying site issues or project concerns and recommending quick response corrective actions using critical thinking techniques, and</li><li>Preparing multiple detailed technical reports within tight deadlines on a daily basis.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>Occupational Health and Safety or Environmental diploma / certificate / degree an asset </li><li>3 to 10 years experience in occupational health and safety </li><li>Certifications such as CRSP, CIH, ROHT or ROH an asset</li><li>Proficiency in hazardous materials </li><li>Unrestricted Class 5 Driver’s License valid in Alberta, reliable personal vehicle and a good driving record</li><li>Strong computer skills (e.g. Google Suite)</li><li>Experience in the consulting industry (specifically asbestos industry) an asset</li><li>Technical and enthusiastic approach to work</li><li>Ability to adapt and work in a team environment and work independently</li><li>Strong interpersonal, oral and written skill</li><li>Flexibility with respect to after hour work</li><li>Alberta Asbestos Worker Course an asset</li><li>AHERA Building Inspector Course an asset</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Salary:</b></p><p>Salary range: <b>$60,000 to 85,000</b></p><p><br></p><p>The final salary awarded for this position may vary from the above range based on applicant's education, experience and qualifications.</p>Create Your Resume First
