<p><h3>Overview</h3>
<p>The Opportunity: We are seeking an Energy Modeling Team Lead to join our team in London (potentially open to Kitchener). Reporting to the Mechanical Division Manager, this role leads the Energy Modelling team within the MEP Division. The successful candidate will act as the Employee Lead, providing mentorship, technical guidance, and project oversight, while also helping to grow and expand energy modelling services. <h3>What You’ll Be Doing</h3>
<ul>
<li>Serve as the Employee Lead for the Energy Modelling team, providing mentorship and direction.</li>
<li>Manage financial performance of the team, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability targets.</li>
<li>Drive business development initiatives and oversee invoicing, scheduling, and resource allocation.</li>
<li>Provide technical guidance, project support, and quality control throughout the modelling process.</li>
<li>Identify growth opportunities for the Energy Modelling team, including market expansion and technical development.</li>
<li>Lead and support projects from initiation to close-out, acting as the main stakeholder contact.</li>
<li>Review and seal both your own work and that of team members.</li>
<li>Support design teams by identifying errors or omissions in drawings.</li>
<li>Develop and analyze energy models using specialized software to optimize building performance and ensure code compliance.</li>
<li>Prepare documentation for building permits, demonstrating compliance with the Ontario Building Code (SB-10 and SB-12) and programs such as CMHC MLI Select and ACLP.</li>
<li>Conduct technical reviews, prepare reports, and support the MEP team as required.</li>
</ul>
<h3>What You’ll Need to Be Successful</h3>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronic Systems Engineering (or equivalent).</li>
<li>Licensed P.Eng. with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).</li>
<li>Minimum 5 years of practical experience in energy modelling, building energy simulations, or related building-sector roles.</li>
<li>Proficiency with energy modelling software (eQuest, RETScreen, HOT2000, AutoCAD).</li>
<li>Strong understanding of building systems (HVAC, lighting, building envelope).</li>
<li>In-depth knowledge of Ontario Building Code, NECB, CSA Standards, and ASHRAE.</li>
<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.</li>
<li>Demonstrated leadership and team mentorship skills.</li>
<li>Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate vision, set expectations, and provide constructive feedback.</li>
<li>Proven accountability for team and individual outcomes.</li>
<li>Adaptability, flexibility, and strong organizational skills with attention to detail.</li>
<li>Commitment to continuous professional and personal development.</li>
<li>Ability to manage divisional performance, financials, and KPIs in a multi-disciplinary team environment.</li>
