Emergency Medicine Physician – Southern Health-Santé Sud – Portage Regional Health Centre
Overview
Southern Health-Santé Sud is accepting applications for positions in the Emergency Department at the Portage Regional Health Centre. Start date and EFT can be negotiated. Various shifts include:
- 0800-1600
- 1300-2100
- 1600-2000
- 1600-1100
- 1100-0800
Required Qualifications
Required licensure: Medical Degree with post-graduate training in Family Medicine or Royal College Certification in Emergency Medicine.
- Current licensure or eligible for full license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba
- ACLS
- PALS
- ATLS
- NRP
- Procedural Sedation
- PoCUS with EDE1 or equivalent
- AIME or equivalent airway management course
Preferred
Post-graduate training in Family Medicine with Certificate of Added Competency in Emergency Medicine.
Remuneration / Hours
In accordance with the provincial contract as negotiated with Doctors Manitoba and Shared Health. Interested physicians should submit a CV with attention to ED training, experience, and up-to-date information regarding certification in PALS, ACLS and ATLS. Please also provide the names of three references that we may contact.
Facility Overview
A brand-new state-of-the-art health centre is scheduled to open early 2026. The new building will have increased emergency treatment areas, dedicated mental health treatment rooms, increased ambulatory care treatment spaces, a dedicated cultural space, 3 operating suites, and 114 in-patient beds. PRHC serves more than 50,000 people in Portage la Prairie and the catchment area. Services include emergency, intensive care, mental health, observation, diagnostics, laboratory, medical, surgery, day surgery, obstetrics, chemotherapy, dialysis, rehabilitation, speech, and ambulatory care clinics.
