As the Director, People and Culture Operations, you will be responsible for fostering positive relationships between the P&C operational team and organizational leaders. Your primary focus will be on aligning P&C operational strategies with the overall goals and objectives of the organization while ensuring effective communication and collaboration across all Business Units. The People Operations team is comprised of Business Partners who are dedicated to providing support to business units across the organization while working in close collaboration with our Centers of Excellence.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Stakeholder Management and Leadership: Serve as a trusted advisor to organizational leaders, providing guidance and support on various P&C matters including talent management, performance, employee relations, and organizational development. In addition, lead and coach the Business Partner Community, ensuring the successful execution of organizational initiatives, with a hands-on approach to working in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Strategic Alignment: Collaborate with leaders to understand operational goals and develop P&C strategies that support and enhance them. The Director of People Operations will play a critical role in shaping our company culture, by driving employee engagement, and organizational growth.
  • Employee Experience: Working closely with the Director of Employee Experience, lead efforts to improve engagement by identifying opportunities for improvement both within the P&C team as well as across the Organization; including change management planning.
  • Change Management: Partner with leadership to manage change initiatives effectively, ensuring that employees are engaged and informed throughout the process. Provide guidance on change management best practices and strategies.
  • Employee Relations: Oversee employee relations activities, including conflict resolution, labour relations and compliance.
  • Talent Development: Work with leaders to identify talent development strategies that will support the evolution of the organization. Provide insights to the Employee Experience team to help build and deploy tools that support employee development.
  • HR Metrics and Analytics: Establish key P&C metrics and analytics to measure the effectiveness of P&C programs and initiatives. Use data-driven insights to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement. Leverage current systems and tools to build the appropriate KPI’s that will inform the Organization.

Qualifications and Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role, overseeing teams located in several work locations.
  • Must have experience in a unionized environment.
  • Strong understanding of best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing People strategies that drive organizational success.
  • Strong project management mindset and ability to work with multiple stakeholders in reaching consensus.
  • Strong experience in labor relations, coupled with working in a highly matrix organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive decision- making.
  • Change management experience, with the ability to effectively manage and navigate organizational change.
  • CHRL designation.
  • Ability to travel to various work locations.
