manufacturing and direct-to-consumer (D2C) organization
, is seeking a
Director of Finance & Operations
to lead financial management while partnering closely with operations and supply chain. This role is being recruited by an external recruitment firm on behalf of the employer.

The Opportunity

The Director of Finance & Operations will own financial oversight while playing a critical role in optimizing inventory, margins, and supply chain performance. This role sits at the intersection of finance, operations, and growth, with visibility to senior leadership and meaningful influence on decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Finance & Accounting Leadership

• Oversee accounting operations including GL, AP, AR, and month-end close
• Lead financial reporting in accordance with ASPE / GAAP
• Own budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and variance analysis
• Maintain strong internal controls, policies, and financial discipline
• Partner with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors

Inventory, Cost Accounting & Margin Management (Core Focus)

• Own
  inventory accounting and controls
  across manufacturing, warehouses, 3PLs, and Amazon FBA
• Lead
  cost accounting
  , including standard costing, landed costs, BOMs, and variance analysis
• Ensure accurate COGS, inventory valuation, reserves, and obsolescence tracking
• Analyze margins at the
  SKU, channel, and fulfillment level
• Improve inventory forecasting, turnover, and working capital efficiency

Operations & Supply Chain Partnership

• Partner with supply chain and operations on demand planning, procurement, and production planning
• Support vendor costing, freight analysis, and logistics optimization
• Develop reporting and KPIs for inventory performance, service levels, and operational efficiency
• Support system and process improvements across ERP, inventory, and reporting tools

D2C / Amazon Oversight

• Oversee financial performance of
  Amazon SKUs
  , including fees, returns, promotions, and reimbursements
• Analyze contribution margins and profitability by SKU and channel
• Support scaling of D2C operations with disciplined financial oversight

Qualifications

• CPA designation preferred (CPA, CA / CPA, CMA / CPA, CGA) or MBA
• 8–12+ years of progressive finance and operations experience
• Prior experience in a senior finance role (Controller, Senior Manager, Director)
• Strong background in
  manufacturing and inventory-intensive environments
• Proven experience with:
• Cost accounting and margin analysis
• Inventory valuation and controls
• Supply chain and operations partnership
• D2C or consumer products businesses
• Experience with
  Amazon Seller Central / FBA
  is a strong asset
• Advanced proficiency in
  MS Excel
• Experience with ERP and inventory systems (NetSuite, Dynamics, Cin7, or similar)
• Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
