<p><h3>Overview</h3><p>Director of Engineering – Platform Products role to lead the development of cutting-edge platform products that power AI and data annotation workflows for internal teams and external customers. Our global workforce portfolio includes over 3,000 employees across the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, the Philippines, India, Sri Lanka, Israel and Germany.</p><p><b>What We Offer</b></p><ul><li>Opportunity to lead engineering for innovative AI platform products</li><li>Direct impact on company growth and customer success</li><li>Collaborative environment with leading Data Science and Product teams</li><li>Competitive compensation including equity participation</li><li>Professional development and conference attendance opportunities</li></ul><p><b>Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Architect, design, and contribute code to mission-critical platform products including annotation platforms and agentic evaluation & monitoring systems</li><li>Lead code reviews and establish engineering best practices across the team</li><li>Make key technical decisions on platform architecture, technology stack, and system scalability</li><li>Ensure platform reliability, security, and performance standards meet enterprise requirements</li><li>Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing engineering team of 8-15 engineers</li><li>Provide technical guidance and career development for engineers at all levels</li><li>Establish engineering processes, standards, and culture that promote innovation and quality</li><li>Recruit top engineering talent and scale the team to meet platform demands</li><li>Partner with Data Science teams to integrate ML workflows into platform architecture</li><li>Collaborate with Product to translate vision into technical roadmaps and deliverables</li><li>Coordinate with Project Managers to ensure accurate scoping, timelines, and delivery</li><li>Coordinate with Customer Success and Sales to understand customer needs and requirements</li><li>Communicate progress and opportunities to executive leadership</li><li>Balance competing priorities and resource allocation across platform initiatives</li><li>Drive platform strategy aligned with company goals and market opportunities</li><li>Stay current with AI / ML infrastructure trends and emerging technologies</li><li>Evaluate and implement new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to improve efficiency</li><li>Ensure platforms are multi-tenant, scalable, and extensible</li></ul><p><b>Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>8+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in engineering leadership</li><li>Strong proficiency in modern programming languages (Python, JavaScript / TypeScript, Go, or similar)</li><li>Experience building and scaling platform products, APIs, and developer tools</li><li>Deep understanding of AI / ML systems, model training pipelines, and evaluation frameworks</li><li>Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, containerization, and microservices architecture</li><li>Experience with databases, data pipelines, and distributed systems</li><li>Proven track record of building and leading high-performing engineering teams</li><li>Experience mentoring engineers and fostering technical growth</li><li>Strong project management skills with ability to deliver complex initiatives on time</li><li>History of establishing engineering processes and development methodologies</li><li>Excellent communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences</li></ul><p><b>Preferred Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>Experience in AI / ML companies or data annotation / labeling platforms</li><li>Background with model evaluation, monitoring, and MLOps workflows</li><li>Knowledge of annotation standards and data quality management</li><li>Experience building developer-facing APIs and SDKs</li><li>Previous player-coach role balancing coding and management</li><li>Familiarity with agentic AI systems and evaluation methodologies</li></ul><p><b>Minimum Education</b></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Linguistics, Localization or related field</li></ul><p><b>EEO and Accessibility</b></p><p>We are an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and diverse workplace.
