Director, Aquatics and Sports

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Aquatics and Sports Director to join our team. The ideal candidate will lead and oversee the strategic planning and execution of the Aquatics and multi sports division and overall organization’s goals.

Major duties and responsibilities are, but not limited to the following:

• Develop and implement strategic plans and collaborate with Club Manager(s) to facilitate and achieve organizational objectives
• Design and participate in the development of new initiatives and programs that drive revenue objectives for the aquatics and sports departments across various sites.
• Oversee and manage budgeting, financial forecasting, and resource allocation.
• Timely submission of staff and contractor payment details to accounting / payroll.
• Work with HR to establish policies and procedures to maintain compliance with regulations and the health and safety of team members and participants.
• Liaise with Human Resources regarding the specific requirements of each location with respect to recruitment, training, performance management and other employee life cycle management.
• Lead and manage a team of professionals to ensure operational excellence.
• Foster a positive organizational culture that encourages teamwork, innovation and constructive feedback.
• Responsible for overseeing and managing the various child and youth camps rolled out throughout the year at all sites including swim, basketball and multi-sport programs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in recreation, child & youth work, or a related field;
• Current NLS and NLI, SFA instructor / examiner, Swim & Lifesaving Instructor, Bronze Examiner, Pool Operator Level 2, at least one advanced qualification, Aquafit certification, Lifesaving society mentor / trainer (Additional aquatics qualifications considered an asset).
• Valid First-Aid and CPR Certification mandatory. Proven experience in a leadership role with a track record of success.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in aquatic programming and supervision.
• Experience in educating or training others is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to swim is required for this role.
• Experience working with young children and youth and adults is mandatory.
• Strong computer literacy is a requirement and experience with MotionVibe, Amelia and SwimGen is an asset.
