<p><h3>Overview</h3><p>De Beers has an exciting opportunity for an Electrician Artisan, Mobile Equipment. Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, this is a site-based position with a 14/14 shift roster rotating days and nights. The position is located at a remote mine site in Northwest Territories. This position is responsible for performing routine preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs to electrical and control systems on mobile equipment in a safe, functional, reliable condition and provide customer service to the maintenance planning functions. The ideal candidate is one who is committed to safe working practices and strives for zero harm.</p><h3>Key responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Work with team to conduct job risk assessments and safe work plans ahead of the work being completed;</li><li>Complete training on electrical safety (Arc flash & Shock) as per site’s Electrical Safety Program training;</li><li>Understand and apply the information on detailed Arc Flash & Shock Equipment Labels, Results Tables or Work Orders to determine additional protective measures to reduce risk;</li><li>Participate in safety audits, reviewing operating procedures and meetings, maintaining meaningful contribution;</li><li>Maintain, repair, and test electric or electronic systems and components on the mobile maintenance fleet;</li><li>Perform timely routine preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on mobile mining equipment in a shop or a field production environment;</li><li>Complete accurate reporting of electrical defects/deficiencies;</li><li>Complete a detailed report on the repairs and identify the cause of failure for each problem encountered on work orders;</li><li>Order parts and install electrical parts/components as per trade code and industry design specification requirements;</li><li>Report hazard observations and near hits, and assist with incident investigations and follow-up work;</li><li>The chosen candidate will be working across various equipment including:</li><li><strong>Komatsu Excavators: PC5500, PC390, PC1250, PC2000, PC360</strong></li><li><strong>Komatsu Haul Trucks: 830E</strong></li><li><strong>Komatsu Loaders and Dozers: WA900, WA600, WA1200, D375, D65</strong></li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Valid Journeyperson certification in Electrical</li><li>4+ years working on Heavy Mining Equipment</li><li>A minimum of 12 months of surface mining field experience working with heavy earthmoving equipment required</li><li>Must be eligible to work in Canada</li><li>Experience with Komatsu as asset</li><li>Ability to read and decipher complex electrical drawings and prints</li><li>Ability to operate within MS Office and SAP environment</li><li>Ability to build productive working relationships with all departments on site</li><li>Ability to communicate and approach work in a professional and effective manner</li><li>Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical & criminal record check</li></ul><h3>Additional information</h3><p><strong>Who We Are:</strong> Active in Canada for over 60 years, we are part of De Beers Group, the world's leading diamond company.
