Job Summary:

TechBoss is seeking a skilled and motivated Data Centre Field Installer/Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up data centers, running cables, fibre cabling/splicing, and performing various tasks associated with data center infrastructure. If you have hands-on experience in data center installations, a strong understanding of cabling, and a passion for precision, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and configure data center hardware, including servers, racks, and network equipment.
• Run, terminate, and test copper and fibre optic cables for data center environments.
• Perform fibre optic splicing and troubleshooting to ensure optimal connectivity.
• Organize and label cables following industry best practices and standards.
• Conduct site surveys, interpret technical drawings, and implement cabling plans.
• Diagnose and resolve cabling and hardware issues in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with the project team to meet installation deadlines and quality standards.
• Adhere to safety regulations and company policies while working on-site.
• Maintain accurate records of installations and document completed work.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Proven experience as a Data Center Technician, Installer, or similar role.
• Expertise in structured cabling, fibre cabling, and splicing techniques.
• Familiarity with data center infrastructure standards and best practices.
• Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and diagrams.
• Proficiency in using testing tools for fibre and copper cabling (e.g., OTDR, cable testers).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to travel and work on-site as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in fibre optic cabling or related fields (e.g., BICSI, FOA).
• Knowledge of low-voltage installations and other IT infrastructure setups.
• Experience working in data center environments.
