Overview
Toronto Pearson International Airport is Canada’s major airport and one of the busiest with approximately 456,000 flights and 44 million passengers travelling annually. Job Skills / Requirements
- Provide vehicular and pedestrian traffic direction and control on the groundside area of the Airport by facilitating the movement of vehicular traffic
- Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Direct or control movement of vehicles at specific locations
- Comfortable working independently and working outside in all weather conditions
- Direct commercial and public vehicles along their respective traffic lanes
- Ensure the safe, orderly and efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians on the Airport’s terminal curbs and roadway surfaces
- Institute regular patrols at various times each day in these areas and others, direct both vehicle and pedestrian traffic, and provide the public with relevant information concerning vehicle parking, stopping, and the loading and unloading of vehicles in a courteous and consistent manner
- Ensure the separation of vehicles and pedestrians by controlling crosswalks, lane separations, areas designated by the GTAA from time to time
- Enforce the “Traffic on Land Side of Airports Regulations”, as may be amended, supplemented or replaced from time to time (collectively the ‘TLSARs”)
- Issue the Parking Infraction Notices (PINs) in accordance with established training procedures. It is the intent that PINs be only issued as a final phase only, all possible methods of communications must be afforded before a PIN is issued
- Attend court for the purpose of giving evidence on PINs issued by them
- Anticipate and address areas of vehicular or pedestrian congestions and attempt to relieve the congestion and/or ensure vehicles or pedestrians move in a safe, secure, orderly and efficient manner
- Respond to Charter Bus call-up requests and consults with other supported roles for placement of bus and tour groups
- Assist passengers with boost requests by calling Tow Trucks;
- Ensure work areas are clear of obstacles including baggage carts in order to maintain a safe environment.
- Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
- Valid First Aid & CPR – Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
- English (oral and written) fluency is a must
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
- Pervious Customer Service Experience required
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
- Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin’s UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
- Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
- Authorized to legally work in Canada
