<p><h3><b>Corporate Records Assistant</b></h3><p><b>Competition No:</b> 2025-275</p>
<p><b>Duration:</b> Regular Full Time</p>
<p><b>Salary:</b> $5,491 – 5,719 – 5,957 – 6,200 – 6,460/month (2024 Rates)</p>
<p><b>Schedule:</b> 70 hours bi-weekly; Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM – 4:45 PM (Nine-Day Fortnight)</p>
<p><b>Special Notes:</b> Normal for CUPE 23 Inside Division Collective Agreement</p>

<p>This position works in the FOI, Privacy and Records organizational unit. This is specialized and technical clerical work in the Legislative Services division. An employee of this class assists a supervisor in the development, coordination and implementation of the City’s corporate records management system and oversees the consistent application of the corporate records classification system by city departments. An employee of this class may also coordinate and monitor corporate records conversion projects and identify and assess departmental requirements by working with stakeholders to implement new technologies. Considerable independence of judgement and action is exercised within the context of established guidelines, referring unusual or policy matters to a supervisor who reviews work performance in terms of accuracy and conformance to established practices and procedures. Performs related work as required.</p>
<h3>Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Assist a supervisor in the development, coordination and implementation of the City’s corporate records management system and oversee the consistent application of the corporate records classification system by city departments.</li>
<li>Coordinate and monitor corporate records conversion projects and identify and assess departmental requirements by working with stakeholders to implement new technologies.</li>
<li>Exercise considerable independence of judgement and action within established guidelines; refer unusual or policy matters to a supervisor.</li>
<li>Perform related work as required.</li>
<h3>Qualifications</h3>
<ul>
<li>Diploma in records management plus sound related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.</li>
<li>Considerable knowledge of records management systems; records classification, profiling, coding and indexing principles as they apply to the work performed.</li>
<li>Ability to review and assess documents and workflow procedures and recommend appropriate records classification and retention schedules, and FIPPA criteria.</li>
<li>Ability to maintain sustained attention to detail; to deal effectively and courteously with others, and provide assistance and information on the records management system.</li>
<li>Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia is required.</li>
</ul>
