Full job description
Cooking-Monday, Friday Saturday & Sunday every other week must be available for all listed shifts WAGE $19.25 30 hours
Dishwasher Tuesday evening, Friday day, Wednesday day WAGE $16.87 18.5 hours
48.5 hours biweekly with more hours available when needed
No late nights

- Must have 3 years experience with large quantity food preparation and cooking
- Previous experience in health care, long term care or retirement home preferred
- Review menus and production sheets before preparing food
- Ensure use of proper food handling techniques
- Oversee kitchen operation in absence of Food Service Manager
- Prepare foods and plates that are nutritious, well balanced and appetizing
- Prepare, season and cook food as directed, meeting dietary requirements where required
- Follow recipes and presentation specifications
- Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Complete daily temperature audits for fridge and freezers
- Prepare and serve foods for therapeutic and specialty diets
- Ensure safe handling of food as per regulatory requirements
- Ensure good personal hygiene, with a clean and neat appearance and adhering to dress code for the department
- Promotes and maintains positive communication and relationships among management, staff and residents
- Work weekends and holidays as per schedule
- Willingness to pick up additional shifts as needed
- Must have current Food Handlers Safety Awareness Certificate
- Must obtain Police Check including Vulnerable Sector Screen
- Must have TB screening 2 step
- Must be fully vaccinated for Covid-19
- Must be willing to have the annual influenza vaccine
