About the Opportunity


IMT Group is looking for a full-time Controller for our IMT Elemental and IMT Elite Finish divisions, located in Port Robinson, ON, and St.

Catharines, ON, respectively.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing all accounting and finance functions, ensuring efficient financial operations and adherence to best practice leadership


In this position, you will be primarily responsible for the oversight of financial statements, forecasts, and operational support to enhance the company’s profitability and financial integrity.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


Supervising accounting and financial operations
Chairing internal monthly financial review meetings
Supporting departments in budgeting and procurement activities
Enhancing accounting systems and designing ERP system reports
Coordinating departmental profitability and managing accounts receivable
Handling cash management and expenditure approvals
Collaborating on corporate reporting and audits
Managing purchasing activities and overseeing receivable collections

About You

In order to qualify for this role, you must have a degree or diploma in Accounting or Finance, or a related field. Additionally, you will need 3+ years of manufacturing accounting experience in a plant environment, including working with external auditing processes.



Registration with the Controlled Goods Program is mandatory for any person examining, possessing or transferring controlled goods in Canada.

To register with the Controlled Goods Program, you must have citizenship or permanent residency.

The following skills and experience will be strong attributes:


Demonstrated senior financial accounting skills
Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics
Knowledge of GAAP and finance principles
CPA designation (asset)
Exceptional communication skills, adept at negotiation
Skilled in team building, leadership, and employee development
Proven ability to collaborate with operations to monitor plant KPIs
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity
