Consultant Physician, Internal Medicine Specialist

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Internal Medicine Physician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in comprehensive medical care to adult patients in various settings such as hospitals, medical offices, and home care environments.
Duties:
- To improve and provide optimal peri-operative medical assessment on patients with complex health co-morbidities. Our goal is to optimize patient cardiovascular health prior to providing any interventional pain treatments.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Manage chronic conditions and acute illnesses
- Administer medications and treatments as needed
- Perform procedures such as pain management interventions
- Collect and analyze patient data to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care
- Utilize electronic health record systems like Cerner and Epic for documentation
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
- Board certification in Internal Medicine
- Strong background in patient care with a focus on internal medicine
- Experience in medication administration and pain management
- Ability to conduct research and contribute to evidence-based practice
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with hospital and outpatient settings
- Proficiency in data collection and analysis for quality improvement initiatives
Terms of employment (for example, project-based, permanent position): Permanent position

Wage : fee for service, in accordance with the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, OHIP reimbursement schedule

Skills requirements (includes education and work experience);
United States medical training a plus. Required to meet the educational requirement with a medical degree (MD) and is in good standing with American Board of Internal Medicine and American Medical Association if applying as an American licensed physician with a license or ability to obtain a license to practice in Ontario. Otherwise, Royal College of Physician and Surgeons certification and a license to practice in Ontario with good standing. Surgical experience a plus. Familiarity with the perioperative environment and interventional pain management procedures are a requisite.
