CNC Programmer

Job Description

SUMMARY:

To write CNC programs utilizing MasterCam and Solid Works.


DUTIES:

Program various CNC machines 2-5 axes using Mastercam and Solidworks;

Select appropriate cutting tools for optimum results.

Design fixtures and setup methods for most efficient machining.

Generate clear and accurate documentation necessary for manufacturing.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in a CNC programming and knowledge of Mastercam and SolidWorks. Experience with any other programming or 3D modeling software will be also considered.
  • Heavy metal fabricating & machining experience an asset
  • Good knowledge of G-code and MS Office (Word, Excel).

Macro programming is an asset.

Solid understanding of machining processes and techniques, good knowledge of cutting tools, feeds, and speeds.

Thorough understanding and interpreting of engineering drawings.

  • Must be proficient at building own 3D models, programming from surfaces and solids.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Results oriented with a strong work ethic.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to learn software and programs very quickly.


EDUCATION

  • Degree or diploma in mechanical engineering or equivalent combination of work and experience.
  • Trade Certification or machining experience is an asset.


LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English


Job Type : Full-Time

Work Location : Richmond (In-Person)

Salary Range : $70,000.00 - $85,000.00
