<h3>Role Description</h3>
<p>This is a full‑time, on‑site Chief Engineer position for the new Homewood Suites by Hilton in Surrey BC, opening end of March 2026.</p>
<p>The Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing the facility's maintenance operations, ensuring the safety and functionality of the building and managing the engineering team. Day‑to‑day tasks include diagnosing and repairing mechanical and technical systems, delegating maintenance tasks, maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, and implementing preventive maintenance programs. The Chief Engineer will work closely with hotel management to ensure efficient property operations.</p>
<h3>Qualifications</h3>
<ul>
<li>Comprehensive knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems</li>
<li>Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills</li>
<li>Experience with preventative maintenance programs and energy conservation practices</li>
<li>Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to diagnose and address technical issues promptly</li>
<li>Familiarity with safety and compliance standards and the ability to ensure regulatory adherence</li>
<li>Ability to work on‑site with exceptional time management and organizational abilities</li>
<li>Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry is a plus</li>
<li>Trade certifications in areas such as electrical, HVAC, or plumbing are preferred</li>
<li>Proficiency in using maintenance management software and tools</li>
