About the Company
Forge Recruitment is presently partnered with our client, a prestigious full-service firm in downtown Toronto, in their search for a Business Development Manager; joining the firms Marketing and Business Development team on a full-time, permanent basis.
About the Role
Supporting the firm’s lawyers on Client and marketing activities, the Business Development Manager will develop targeted initiatives to proactively drive profitable revenue growth and raise the firm’s profile in key markets and sectors. Additionally:
- Manage RFP and proposal responses, including drafting content with the Communications and Content Specialist, material creation, vetting and crafting of proposal documents, project management, materials submissions and follow ups;
- Actively participate in Practice Group meetings to become familiar with the legal services and clients of the area;
- Facilitate annual planning sessions with the Practice Groups on the upcoming year’s marketing and business development plans as well as conduct quarterly reviews to assess the annual plan progress, spending against budget(s), and identify any progressing related action items;
- Identify cross-selling opportunities within the firm to drive practice group and lawyer revenue growth, including analysis of client contacts and experience and providing direction for business development and marketing outreach efforts;
- Monitor industry, client, and legal developments and market trends to identify high potential business development opportunities. Communicating opportunities to practice group leadership and lawyers and planning highly-focused business development initiative to capitalize on opportunities;
- Project management and/or support with other marketing and business development projects.

What You Bring
As the ideal candidate, you possess:
- Post-Secondary education in business, marketing or related discipline
- 3+ years of related business development experience in a professional services firm (experience in a law firm considered an asset)
- Proven trackrecord and understanding of marketing and business development practices in a professional services industry
- Excellent project management, time management, and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and demanding stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail with advanced writing skills
- Experience with CRM
- Proficient in the entire MS Office Suite
- Knowledge of graphic design software
