*Job Description*

• Manage the Bakery department; handle day to day operations, allocate resources, train, coach and schedule staff

• Prepare, bake and decorate breads, pastries, cakes and a variety of assorted desserts ensuring high quality and presentation standards are met

• Set up baked goods based on merchandising standards; ensure an accurate amount of goods are prepared based on store needs

• Provide exceptional customer service; taking orders, answering customer inquiries and up-selling goods at our Bakery counter

• Support the development of standardize recipes for all menu items

• Additional duties as required

*Job Requirements*

• Previous experience working in a bakery, decorating cakes/pastries and providing counter support in a grocery store environment is required

• Experience managing vendors, inventory, motivating staff and monitoring performance

• Food Handler’s Certification is required. Post-secondary in a culinary skills program is an asset

• Health and safety orientated with a passion for cleanliness adhering to food, safety and sanitation standards

• Detail-orientated, creative and accurate

• Physically fit with strong manual dexterity; comfortable standing, bending, walking and lifting for long periods of time

• Open availability; must be flexible to work all shifts including days, evenings and weekends.
