ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR – MASS SPECTROMETRY FACILITY
(Full-Time)
We are seeking to hire an experienced professional to take on the role of


Associate Director – Mass Spectrometry Facility . The facility is currently the largest privately funded proteomics mass spec facility in Canada, hosting a dozen high-end mass spectrometers for the company’s de novo protein sequencing services and related R&D activities. The candidate will have the opportunity to work with some of the most renowned proteomics and mass spectrometry experts and advance their career together with the rapid growth of the company.
The Company
Rapid Novor is a pioneer in protein de novo sequencing based on mass spectrometry, providing protein sequencing solutions to biopharma and biotech companies around the globe. The company is expanding service offerings based on its leading proprietary sequencing platform, including a clinical test for multiple myeloma. We have tremendous growth potential, and we are looking for the right person to help our dedicated team take the company to the next level.
The Role
The Associate Director will work closely with the Director of Laboratory to help manage a fleet of mass spectrometry instruments and a team of highly qualified technicians and technologists for the facility’s smooth operation. The facility provides essential support to the company’s protein sequencing services and internal R&D activities. The Associate Director is also expected to develop and optimize mass spectrometry methods, and to collaborate with our interdisciplinary team of lab scientists, bioinformaticians, and sales & marketing people for the development of new products.
Responsibilities
·Administer the mass spectrometers and related equipment to ensure smooth operation of the facility
·Deal with vendors and manage in-house equipment maintenance and repair
·Support the Director of Laboratory in the daily management of the lab.
·Provide expertise in proteomic mass spectrometry
·Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
·At least 5 years of experience in managing a mass spectrometry facility.
·Master’s or higher degree (Ph.D. preferred) in proteomics mass spectrometry or related field.
·Able to work onsite
·May occasionally be required to work outside of the normal 9-5/M-F work schedule.
