ELM Developments — a vertically integrated real estate investment and development firm — is growing its multifamily and mixed‑use platform and is seeking an Associate Director of Investments to join their dynamic and entrepreneurial team. This role will shape the firm’s investment strategy by leading underwriting, modelling, and capital markets support across a diverse portfolio.
Your New Employer
With a 35‑year legacy built on construction, value engineering and thoughtful community design, ELM delivers high‑quality residential, retail and mixed‑use projects across the GTA. Their success comes from combining institutional discipline with entrepreneurial agility — when they commit to a project, they execute with integrity and excellence every time.
Your New Role
Reporting to the Senior Director, Investments, you will perform the full investment process from opportunity assessment to closing, leading financial due diligence, sophisticated modelling and investment analysis. You will prepare institutional‑grade investment materials, support debt and equity raises and track the performance of active projects. Working closely with Development, Planning, Construction and Accounting, you will translate technical inputs into clear financial outcomes that guide decision‑making.
What Sets You Apart
You have 5–7 years of high‑performance experience in real estate investment banking, private equity, REIT investments, or developer‑side finance, and you bring advanced modelling skills, strong commercial instincts, and excellent presentation capabilities. Multi‑residential experience is mandatory; condo and retail asset experience are nice‑to‑haves. You thrive in fast‑paced environments, deliver high‑quality work with limited oversight and think like an owner — asking great questions, challenging assumptions and diving in with a sleeves‑up, solutions‑oriented approach.
What You Can Expect
You will join an ambitious and collaborative team that values precision, initiative and results. This role offers career progressions, significant exposure to senior leadership and capital partners, along with opportunities to shape best practices and take on leadership responsibilities as the investment platform expands. A competitive compensation package is offered and will be commensurate with the depth and relevance of your experience.
Next Steps
We are working exclusively with the Elm Developments team so please do NOT reach out to them directly. If your experience aligns, we will reach out within 48–72 hours to discuss next steps. Thank you for your interest.
