What is the opportunity?

The Associate Director – Intake & Planning, is accountable for managing the end-to-end organizational ideation and intake platforms and process. This role is pivotal in creating a prioritized and themed backlog across strategic changes, ensuring that the organization’s innovation pipeline is robust, aligned with business objectives, and delivers measurable value. The position, supported by an Associate, involves the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the ideation and intake process, acting as the initial point of contact for all ideas and requests for change.



The function will facilitate the implementation of campaigns to generate ideas/requests through the change lifecycle from idea generation, prioritization to value realization, inclusive of benefit tracking. The role will work with Transformation & Client Solutions’ Product owners, Operations, Client Success, and T&O stakeholders to ensure that the deliverables achieve the business result through organized communication and process to validate status, impact and benefits. The role will bring holistic visibility to the state of change by reporting on key initiative performance indicators.

The role is well-suited to people who have a passion for innovation, with an ability for problem solving and desire to provide excellent user experience. The candidate is results oriented, possesses strong interpersonal and leadership skills, and who enjoys working as part of a team.



What will you do?

  • Develop and operationalize the ideation and intake processes, incorporating continuous improvements.
  • Oversee the business intake process, ensuring adherence to defined guard rails and processes.
  • Facilitate the Portfolio Planning & Review Committee to ensure effective scoring and prioritization of ideas.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that ideas are evaluated and prioritized based on their potential impact and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Manage the progression of ideas from initial intake to delivery, assigning them to appropriate teams for execution and ensure a seamless transition of ideas through the change lifecycle, from idea generation to value realization.
  • Monitor and validate the status, impact, and benefits of initiatives to ensure they align with business goals.
  • Conduct thorough research and prioritize opportunities using a defined framework.
  • Ensure opportunities are sufficiently vetted before being approved for execution.
  • Facilitate the application of design-thinking methodology, focusing on empathy and definition stages.
  • Manage communication and change management efforts related to the ideation and intake processes and establish regular reporting cadence on KPIs for the portfolio.

What do you need to succeed?



Must-have

  • Minimum of 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong technical skills (proficiency in MS office applications PPT, Power BI, Excel, RBC Connect)
  • Strong analytical mindset in terms of taking abstract questions and issues and structuring them into manageable and specific chunks of work
  • Strong collaboration & team skills; with a focus on cross-group collaboration
  • Strong Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of business analysis, project delivery practices and standards across the project lifecycle
