Capstone Infrastructure Corporation is on the lookout for an innovative Asset Manager to join our dynamic operations team. This role is based in either Alberta or Toronto and will report directly to the Vice President of Asset Management. We’re looking for a motivated individual with a keen interest in the power generation sector, especially in renewable energy projects. This is a fixed-term contract role with the potential to become permanent based on performance and availability of a role.


Responsibilities:


Asset Management Framework & Operations Excellence

  • Assist with goals and objectives for the Company.
  • Work closely with senior management and plant managers in the business planning and forecasting processes for corporate and operational assets.
  • Support the in the development and implementation of Capstone Operational Excellence Management Systems (COEMS) and Operating Program.
  • Collaborate with all Plant manager to report on a standardized Asset Integrity Management Plan
  • Collaborate with other department to develop and maintain the document control through SharePoint for Operating Assets
  • Work with plant managers to help to identify areas for improvement and attention.
  • Support the development of the Asset Management strategies in support of the overall asset business plan through analysing data and developing charts and presentations required for senior management.

Commercial Management & Contract Management


  • Assist in the preparation and approval process of operating budgets.
  • Work with the team to support the implementation of the company wide contract management system.
  • Reviewing, understanding and negotiation of commercial contracts; compliance with contracts.
  • Participate in special projects, providing support to the team for business decisions.
  • Work with plant managers to help to identify areas for improvement and attention.
  • Assist in the due diligence and underwriting of potential acquisitions.
  • Develop simple financial models utilizing operational data or provide inputs to the business planning team to support Investment decisions.
  • Perform regular maintenance cycles of analyzing budgets, costs, revenues, and financial models of operational assets.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Manage & review relevant reporting and analysis of contracting and operational stats to ensure goals are being met and surpassed.
  • Support the Performance engineer in the data analytics for the operating sites
  • Support the operations and corporate executive in the analysis and implementation of business improvement projects.
  • Support the development of Operational Metric reports and be responsible for maintaining them monthly.

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or business/commerce or relevant field.
  • 5-7 years work experience in a similar role in the renewable energy field primarily in the wind generation.
  • Computer literacy sufficient to operate spreadsheet and word processing applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills and effective presentation and reporting abilities.
  • Flexible problem solver with the ability to work and collaborate with team members and quickly learn new concepts/processes.
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with accuracy and strong attention to detail.
  • Friendly, personable and able to build harmonious working relationships with colleagues, advisors and the general public.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in recognizing scope of authority and protecting confidential information.
