<p><h3>Overview</h3><p>Island Health has an opportunity for a locum Anesthesiologist to join a busy anesthesia practice at the North Island Hospital Campbell River & District Campus.</p><p>The North Island Hospital Campbell River & District Campus is a new hospital with 95 beds and serves a referral population of 60.</p><p>Surgical services include fellowship trained orthopedics (joint revision, arthroscopy & spine), General Surgery, ENT, Plastics, Obs / Gyn, Urology, Dental, and Sedation Service for Endoscopy. Anesthesia is covered 24 / 7, with some surgical call services shared with neighboring centers in Comox and Courtenay. After hours work can also involve ICU and ER for trauma or acute airway management.</p><p>Affiliation with the University of British Columbia’s Island Medical Program provides teaching opportunities to medical students and residents.</p><p><b>Start Date</b></p><p>November – January</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><p>Provide anesthesia coverage 24/7 at the North Island Hospital Campbell River & District Campus. After hours work can involve ICU and ER for trauma or acute airway management.
