We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Analytical Chemist to join our team. The position offers opportunities to work on innovative projects, collaborate with experienced scientists and engineers, and contribute to the advancement of sustainable technologies developed in British Columbia.
Job Duties:
Analyze, synthesize, purify, modify and characterize chemical compounds
Develop and conduct programs of analysis to ensure quality control of raw materials, chemical intermediates or final products
Conduct research to develop new chemical formulations and processes and devise new technical applications of industrial chemicals and compounds
Conduct research to discover, develop, refine and evaluate new products
Conduct fundamental and applied research into the synthesis and properties of chemical compounds and the mechanisms of chemical reactions
Participate in interdisciplinary research and development projects working with chemical engineers or other professionals
Conduct analyses using various techniques e.g. chromatography, spectroscopy, physical and chemical separation methods, and microscopy techniques to identify and quantify substances in samples.
Prepare report and provide client with information
Minimum requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in in chemistry or chemical engineering is required
Fluent in English
Minimum 2+ years working experiences as analytical chemist
Minimum 2+ years experiences dealing with industrial chemical plants, pulp and paper industry chemicals, or chemicals in mining industry, e.g. Cyanide matrixes, Sulphuric acid matrix, Liquid chlorine matrix, Chloro-alkali matrix, Mining and battery matrixes
Software/Computer Knowledge:

Salary:
$41 - $43/hr, 40 hours/week
