About the Role
Are you ready to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of ATCO’s Palo Alto enterprise environment? As a Palo Alto Analyst, you’ll be the driving force behind the rollout and ongoing success of our cutting‑edge security and cloud solutions. Reporting directly to the Palo Alto Technical Lead, you’ll be hands‑on with the latest technology, ensuring our environment is robust, agile, and always a step ahead.
You’ll go far beyond traditional support — driving bold improvements and championing best practices to ensure optimal performance and security. You’ll take ownership of capacity planning, maintenance, and event monitoring, keeping our Palo Alto environment robust and resilient. Collaborating closely with the Palo Alto Technical Lead, Enterprise Architecture, and Cloud teams, you’ll help design and implement innovative technical solutions. By immersing yourself in ATCO’s security landscape and cloud architecture, you’ll gain expertise that will set you apart in your career. What You Get to Do
Operational Support
- Assist in configuring and deploying Prisma Access components: GlobalProtect Agent, PAC File, Prisma Access Browser, ZTNA Connectors and Service Connections
- Support integration of remote networks via IPSec tunnels and bandwidth provisioning
- Help implement security services including ZTNA, SWG, Advanced URL Filtering, DNS Security, Threat Prevention, WildFire Sandboxing, CASB, SaaS Inline, GenAI Access Security, and browser‑based DLP
- Monitor and analyze logs via Strata Cloud Manager; assist in incident triage and reporting
- Document configurations, workflows, and standard operating procedures
- Collaborate with network, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure seamless implementation
- Participate in testing, validation, and troubleshooting of access and security policies
- Assist with technical oversight of the Palo Alto environments
- Assist in technical decisions that affect operations or projects
- Function as an escalation point for technical questions about Palo Alto technical requirements, involving the Design Authority as required.
- Escalate concerns regarding operational or project risks and issues, including vendor concerns, to leadership
- Attend root cause analysis meetings after Palo Alto related incidents
Documentation
- Responsible for the continued documentation of Palo Alto technical requirements and solutions
Planning and Requirements
- Support initiatives as new or enhanced cloud solutions/projects being considered
- Assist in the translation of cloud and security technical requirements into Palo Alto technical requirements and/or solutions
- Contribute to the formulation and definition of system scope and objectives based on operational or project requirements as they relate to Palo Alto
- Determine whether internal or external Palo Alto solutions exist or whether new solutions are required and feasible, working with the Cybersecurity and Cloud Teams
- Participate in Palo Alto and cloud solution design to ensure completeness of technical scope and implementation
Research and Technical Evaluation
- Keep abreast of new and emerging Palo Alto technologies and/or service offerings
- Maintain knowledge of Palo Alto technology, monitoring, and automation products in the ATCO environment
- Work with the Design Authority to recommend new Palo Alto technology direction or options to maintain competitive advantages
Financial Operations
- Recommend and action opportunities for cost and efficiency savings
- Assist in reporting on Palo Alto usage, performance, and costs for the organization
What You Bring
- Post secondary education in information systems or related field
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or IT infrastructure
- Experience with Palo Alto
- Working knowledge of Palo Alto Networks technologies (Prisma Access, GlobalProtect, WildFire, etc.)
- Understanding of VPNs, IPSec, ZTNA, SWG, and cloud-based security models
- Experience with log analysis, SIEM tools, and incident response workflows
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment
- Ability to translate functional processes and technical system requirements to support the successful integration of cloud technology solutions to meet business needs.
- Strong analytical, technical, and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and able to use non‑technical language to explain technology to non‑IT stakeholders
- Maintain knowledge of ATCO cloud IT solutions, service offerings, and emerging technologies
- Ability to work in a team environment, build collaborative relationships, and negotiate with stakeholders
- Have an innovative mindset, and a proven track record in identifying, proposing, prototyping, documenting, and overseeing the execution of cloud technology solutions
- The ability to create reports and integrate when requested will be considered an asset
- Cloud fundamentals (Azure, GCP or OCI) is an asset
- PCNSE certification is an asset
