Work Performed:
The Inspector is required to inspect the work of tradesmen during and after any phase of the servicing, repair, modification, manufacturing, and overhaul of aircraft systems within the scope of his or her Company issued Inspection Authority (ICA), CARS 566.03 Par.(8) and to recommend solutions to discrepancies, if any; and The Inspector is required to carry out inspection on portions of the manufacturer’s maintenance checks, review Service Bulletins and airworthiness directives, make log book entries and complete airworthiness documentation. Inspectors are also required to carry out receiving, in process, final and shipping inspections and complete inspection reports and documents related to manufacturing and distribution. However, Inspectors with limited shop ICA capabilities shall not be permitted to inspect any on-aircraft work.
Knowledge & Ability:
The Inspector must possess a thorough knowledge of aircraft systems, shop methods and practices, aircraft standards, use of manuals, theory of fight, operation of engines, airframe and airframe accessory overhaul, applicable regulations related to assembly, repair, overhaul, and operation of aircraft within his or her scope of approval.
Qualifications:
The Inspector must possess a minimum of six (6) years’ experience in the Aerospace Industry to the classification, and hold an AME License for the classification listed within the Inspectors Trade Group:
M1 and M2-Mclassification
S -S classification
E-E classification
Supervision:
The Inspector works under normal supervision to base or in the field.
