Agile Coach
Job Description
One of North America's largest financial services institutions is searching for an experienced Agile Coach to join their dynamic transformation team in Burnaby, BC. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to drive innovation and strategic change for major enterprise clients, tackling complex business challenges and shaping how global companies deliver cutting-edge products. You'll advise senior leaders, guide agile teams, and help support a large internal technology migration project by using world-class agile methodologies.
This exciting opportunity begins as a 6-month W2/IC contract offering a hybrid onsite (3x/week) schedule and strong potential for extension or conversion to a permanent role.
Please Note: Candidates MUST be able to work onsite in Burnaby, BC 3 days per week.
Responsibilities:
- Lead agile transformation projects from concept to execution, working directly with senior client stakeholders
- Guide teams through the full Scrum lifecycle, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews and retrospectives
- Design and refine product strategies, create wireframes, and manage development of high-value storyboards/user stories
- Oversee product backlog grooming and ensure alignment with evolving stakeholder needs
- Provide expert coaching and mentorship to agile teams, promoting adoption of engineering best practices such as test-driven development and continuous integration
- Facilitate workshops and training sessions to elevate agile maturity across organizations
- Identify and surface hidden risks, prioritize initiatives, and empower teams to deliver high-impact results
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degrees preferred
- Subject matter expert with at least 10 years of relevant experience preferred; depth of expertise and agility valued over tenure for emerging skill sets
- Track record of successfully leading agile projects as both a Scrum Master and Product Owner
- Demonstrated experience developing consumer-facing products and driving business transformation through technology
- Strong grasp of engineering principles including automated testing, CI/CD, and iterative product development
- Proficient in storyboarding, wireframing, backlog management, user story creation, and setting acceptance criteria
- Prior experience teaching agile principles in workshop or classroom settings preferred
- Skilled at strategic stakeholder alignment, with ability to influence and communicate effectively at executive levels
- Exceptional leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities in both team settings and with senior leaders
- Expert problem-solver who thrives on complex challenges and delivering innovative, actionable solutions
- Proven project manager able to anticipate risks and plan multiple steps ahead
- Competent working under pressure and managing client expectations with confidence
