Rural Roads Health Services (RRHS) is actively seeking applicants for the Housekeeping Aide position for our Support Services Department.

The duration of this temporary contract would be indefinite, or sooner, as determined by RRHS.

The primary location for this position is: Alexandra Hospital, Ingersoll

Position Summary:

The Housekeeping Aide performs the necessary cleaning duties as required with the objective of maintaining the hospital facilities in a clean, sanitary and orderly condition.

Qualifications:

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent acceptable to the Hospital.
• Preference will be given to candidates who possess the Ontario Healthcare Housekeepers' Association (OHHA) Environmental Services for Front Line Staff course or are in the process of completing it.
• Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in a healthcare setting.
• Physically able to perform the requirements of the job.
• Knowledge of WHMIS as it pertains to Housekeeping.
• Able to perform cleaning duties as required, in a clean, sanitary and orderly manner.
• Computer knowledge and proficiency preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis.

Other pertinent conditions:

• As per the UNIFOR Collective Agreement ($28.59 per hour to $29.34 per hour)

Must be available to work all shifts as required, which may include; weekends, statutory holidays, days, evenings and night shifts. Hours are subject to change based on operation needs of the hospital.
